The King's Final Lesson



"Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble."

Read the entire chapter 4 and answer the following questions:

  1. This is the King's third lesson in the school of God's sovereignty. What are the other two? Compare and contrast with lesson number one.
  2. Why would Daniel hesitate to interpret the dream?
  3. What are the reasons for Nebuchadnezzar's subsequent insanity?
  4. Could the insanity have been averted? How is he cured in the end?
  5. Nebuchadnezzar goes insane for a period of years. What other significant periods of time in the Bible are specifically seven years in duration?
  6. Aware of these other passages, how does one go about understanding the seven years of insanity here?
  7. Is there anything about this lesson that might be applicable to us in the 21st Century?
